Victory goes to Barangay Maya

Barangay Maya is blessed this year with so many accolades especially when it recently grabbed this year's top plums in the HALADAYA festival 2009 in the Municipality of Daanbantayan.
First, Maya National High School's basketball team snatched the Sun J. Shimura Intersecondary Basketball Cup 2009 along with April Rhodes Cañete as the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Lyn Remar M. Erato, Maya National High School's lass, was crowned as Haladaya Festival Queen 2009 besting 14 other candidates. She was earlier hailed as Miss Photogenic. Special thanks to Emil Rosales for the incessant tutelage.
Saving the best for last, the contingent from Barangay Maya as represented by our very own students of Maya National High School, won as this year's GRAND CHAMPION of the recently concluded HALADAYA Festival 2009 Ritual and Showdown. It also coveted the Best in Streetdancing and Best in Costume awards respectively. Thanks to our team of choreographers headed by Angelo Manapsal. The same goes to Carmelo Anthony Pacheco, Dan Philip Menguito, Sir Trifon and Richard for their all-out support and patience. Gratitude is also extended to the Maya Barangay Council headed by Brgy. Capt. Elver Ali Abucay and concilors Hon. Ellen Conje, Hon. Susana Pepito, Hon. Vanessa Cañete and Hon. Vidal Mantos who are always with us all throughout the rehearsals to the finals. So do with the formidable Maya National High School Faculty and Staff headed by Mr. Jimmy Suico for the selfless efforts and undying support.
We offer all these to our Almighty Father who ceaselessly endows us with these bounteous wonders.
